The precondition for being any Content Creator and aspiring entrepreneur is always being ahead of the curve.
As a Content Creator myself, I religiously keep myself invested in books, courses and other sources of knowledge.
One of the books that I recently finished reading happened to be “Contagious – Why Things Catch On” written by Jonah Berger.
The core lessons of the magnificent book include 6 simple principles.
According to the author, any viral content or message generally follows the STEPPS framework. The framework as a whole consists of:
- Social Currency: We share things that make us look good.
2. Triggers: Top of mind, tip of tongue.
3. Emotion: When we care, we share.
4. Public: Built to show, built to grow.
5. Practical Value: News you can use.
6. Stories: Information travels under the guise of idle chatter.
Jonah Berger insisted that if any business or product line follows these principles, their content or product is bound to be contagious.
Now here’s the catch! Like all other entrepreneur, my company was struggling to grab the public eye. The sales & engagement weren’t satisfactory either.
With all of this in mind, I applied the entire framework in my e-commerce business, Text Only. And the results have been no short of astounding.
The sales and growth have been increasing exponentially since then Alhamdulillah.
I highly suggest every Marketing & Sales professional in my network to read the book at least once and absorb its content at heart.
I’m pretty sure that this will surely help you in your future endeavours.
Happy Learning!
