How I Landed a Full-Time US-Based Remote Job from Bangladesh While Still an Undergrad

My Journey: From the Bottom to Above & Beyond

Working remotely has unbelievably broadened my vision of the world

Just a couple of years ago, the idea of working remotely for a US-based SaaS startup while pursuing my undergraduate degree in Bangladesh felt unattainable.

I didn’t have industry connections or years of experience. I wasn’t even sure where to start.

But what I did have was a heart full of courage, curiosity, determination, and the willingness to bet on myself.

Today, I work as a Revenue Operations Manager, earning in a global currency, working with incredible teams, and enjoying financial and geographical freedom.

What Changed?

1️⃣ I Stopped Waiting for the Perfect Time
I realized there was no such thing as the “perfect moment” to start.

  • I didn’t wait until graduation.
  • I didn’t wait for someone to hand me an opportunity.
I started right where I was, with limited knowledge but an unlimited drive to learn.

2️⃣ I Mastered In-Demand Skills
Skills are the real game-changer. The job market isn’t about degrees anymore, it’s about what you can do.

Here are the key areas I focused on:

Marketing Skills

  • B2B Marketing Fundamentals:
I immersed myself in understanding how businesses market to other businesses. This required studying customer personas, identifying pain points, and creating strategies to bridge the gap between problems and solutions.
  • Content Marketing:
I learned to craft compelling blog posts, email campaigns, and LinkedIn posts that engage audiences and drive action. Understanding the power of storytelling was a game-changer — it allowed me to humanize even the most technical products.
  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization):
Ranking higher on Google is critical for SaaS companies. I learned keyword research, backlink strategies, and content optimization to drive organic traffic.
  • Analytics Mastery:
Using tools like Google Analytics and Hotjar, I tracked website behavior, user engagement, and campaign ROI. These insights helped me refine strategies for better results.
  • Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Understanding that traffic alone isn’t enough, I dove into the art and science of CRO to ensure visitors convert into leads or customers. By using tools like Hotjar and Google Analytics, I uncovered where users dropped off and optimized those critical touchpoints.

I experimented with landing pages, CTAs, and email subject lines to identify what resonates most with the audience, improving conversion rates over time.

  • Social Media Marketing (SMM):

Social media is more than likes and shares; it’s a powerful tool for building brands and nurturing communities.

  • Platform Expertise: I learned the nuances of platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, tailoring strategies to each audience for maximum impact.
  • Content Creation: From engaging static posts to viral short-form videos, I crafted content that balanced value, relatability, and shareability.
  • Community Engagement: I didn’t just post; I interacted — responding to comments, joining discussions, and creating a two-way dialogue that built trust and loyalty.
  • Paid Campaigns: Using tools like Meta Ads Manager, I launched targeted campaigns that drove measurable results, from lead generation to direct sales

Sales Skills

  • Outbound Prospecting:
I perfected the art of cold emails and LinkedIn outreach, crafting personalized messages that resonate with prospects. My conversion rates improved as I learned to connect emotionally and professionally.
  • Relationship Building:
Sales isn’t just about transactions; it’s about trust. I focused on building long-term relationships with clients by understanding their business goals and aligning them with solutions.
  • CRM Management:
Proficiency in tools like HubSpot and Salesforce helped me stay organized and track every stage of the sales funnel, ensuring nothing slipped through the cracks.

Technical Skills

Digital Tools & Platforms:
I became proficient in platforms like:

  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator: For lead generation and prospecting.
  • HubSpot: To manage campaigns, track performance, and nurture leads.
  • Google Analytics & Search Console: For tracking KPIs and optimizing campaigns.
  • Google Ads & Meta Ads Manager: For paid advertising campaigns that deliver results.
  • Email Marketing:
Tools like Mailchimp and ConvertKit enabled me to create drip campaigns with high open rates and engagement.

Soft Skills

  • Adaptability:
Every client, campaign, and sales call taught me to think on my feet and tailor my approach to unique situations.
  • Communication:
I worked hard on articulating complex ideas clearly, ensuring my message resonated with both clients and teammates.
  • Problem-Solving:
In SaaS, challenges arise daily. I learned to see problems as opportunities to innovate and bring value.

3️⃣ I Positioned Myself Online
I didn’t wait for opportunities to find me — I made myself visible.

  • I optimized my LinkedIn profile to showcase my skills, passion, and potential.
  • I connected with professionals in my desired industry, learning from their experiences.
  • I started posting content, sharing insights and value, which helped me build a personal brand that stood out.

Eventually, those efforts paid off. A recruiter found me through LinkedIn, and my career as a remote B2B SaaS Marketing and Sales Manager began

This lifestyle has allowed me to travel and work from anywhere & everywhere

The Freedom This Gave Me

🔑 Financial Freedom:

  • Earning in USD transformed my financial independence. I could save more, invest in personal growth, and support my family in ways I hadn’t imagined.

🌍 Geographical Freedom:

  • My job doesn’t tie me to a specific location. Whether I’m in Dhaka, traveling, or working from a quiet café, my career moves with me.
My passion for traveling has been slowly seeing daylight as I have been moving across the country over the past year

The Emotional Side of the Journey

It wasn’t easy.

There were days I doubted myself, moments when rejection emails outnumbered responses, and times when it felt like I was chasing an impossible dream.

But every time I felt like giving up, I reminded myself why I started:

  • I wanted to break barriers for myself and others like me.
  • I wanted to prove that geography is not a limitation in a digital world.
  • I wanted to create a life where passion and work coexist.

Every sleepless night, every moment of self-doubt, every ounce of effort — it was all worth it.

The Magnitude of the Achievement

This wasn’t just a job; it was a milestone.

  • It represented the possibility of a global career for someone from a little corner in Bangladesh.
  • It showed that passion and hard work could outshine pedigree.
  • It inspired others around me to dream bigger and aim higher.
